My monthly favourites, sources of inspiration and pleasure!

This year I have decide to add another fun topic on the blog that I also enjoy watching from time to time on Youtube from my blogger collegues all around the world, "Monthly favourites".

What is "Monthly favourites"?! Just some things I discover every month that show to be very useful to me or some things that inspire me that month and that I enjoy.

Usually, this is a sort of thing that bloggers film for Youtube, but for now I decided to mark the whole thing with some photos and a short text. Maybe I will find the courage to film it as well someday, who knows! :(

1. I am bit  old school and inspite all the apps out there, what I like the most is to reach for my planner/notebook/journal and my pen to run my personal and business plans, write down ideas, develop creatively.

I used to write down ideas or duties on pieces of paper I found in the moment and which after I couldn't find anymore or I thought I would remember it later...turns out it's not gonna happen, so now I have plenty of different kinds of journals and each of them has its own purpose!

January is the right time to do that, so it's no surprise I have them on my list.

Currently I am working on a private project I will be sharing with you soon when the time comes that has to do with writing down stuff, which I am really looking forward to in advance, especially to hear your thoughts about it, but...that's another topic to discuss in the future.

2. Amos Lee

Probably some of you are asking themselves now, who or what is that, now?!

He is a very talented musician I fell in love with, that plays soul folk music, I found it by accident (or not?! ;) ) on Youtube will randomly searching for some music and now I have become addicted. I listed to his music while working on the computer or while I am in the kitchen or just doing some house chores.Thumbs up for Amos Lee!

Some of my fav songs: "Dignified woman", "Not myself", "Arms of a woman", "Colors"...

3. Oviesse yellow sweater

I usually have a hard time finding a sweater that fits me right,  by the colour I like or its texture. They usually pinch me and do not fit my body structure at all, but this one is so cozy and soft I wore it almost all the time this month during this cold days. I like the warm colour which is not just yellow, but has some green/blue lines all over it as well and fit me nicely. I feel really comfortable in it and that's the most important thing of all. Bought in Oviesse.

4. Book reccomendations

This month I would like to share with you 2 great books I read and that left a strong impression on me.

The first title is an italian novel "Il tempo che vorrei", by Fabio Volo that talks about a man's life from his childhood till today and portartys a real and honest way his personal profile showing the reasons of his current behaviour, a consequence of the lifestyle and relationship he had with his own family. Volo made me think about some of my own behaviour patterns I would like to change and made me realize how hard it actually is to do that. Everything has its own "why".

He uses an opet and honest approach in writing, which will make the novel fast to read, and a special charm of the whole book is that it is written in italian which contributes to a dose of humor and honesty. If you know italian I would reccomend you read it in its language of origin, if not try to find it on your own language. Hopefully you'll like it.

The second book is actually the first book of Ajahn Brahm, "Cows cry"  where you will find inspirational buddhist stories about the simplicity of life and about happiness. I already wrote about his second book  "The elephant who lost its happiness"  and the way it touched me.

This book is divided in 11 categories/chapters and each faces 11 different themes through short stories taken from the personal experience of Ajahn Brahm or through the stories of his teachers.

They are short, fun but actually really deep and I believe we all need a reminder from time to time that will help us seeing what matters in this life and to handle different sitations and problems we are faced with. It will definitely change your perspective towards life.

5. This is a miracle, but I have finally found THE SHAMPOO for myself!

I mentioned once I have wavy/curly hair that I have to wash often and that leads to dry hair.

.Oblepikha Siberica professional for normal to dry hair took me back to life! :)

After just one wash, my hair was more hydrated, had more volume and life. I brush it more easily, it falls out less and it is definitely stronger.

I sometimes use it on its own or combine with my Natura Siberica conditioner.

You can find the whole line of shampoos of 400 ml in any Bio&Bio store for the price of 51,90kn.

6. After washing my hair I usually apply  just a little bit of coconut oil on my hands and then smoothly pass my fingers through my hair. It helps with control my messy hair after blow drying and brushing.

In November I bough on a Handmade fest in Pula, Nashe almond oil made by a lady from Pula, usually used for smoothing the body, of very gentle scent with some gold particles. You can also apply it on your hair, so I started using it instead of coconut oil after washing, but really just 2 drops in order to prevent greasy hair.

I am very satisfied with it, the hair smells lovely, it is natural and homemade/handmade and it works perfectly with humidity to prevent the hair go crazy.

7. And last but not the least, my fav recipe of the month- Cottage cheese pancakes with sweet wild strawberries! :)

You can find the recipe tomorrow on the blog, all I am going to say now is that they are soft, gently flavoured and a real treat.

I made them in January for the first time and abviously repeated the recipe a few more times. I must say I am a bit addicted to this combo with wild strawberries we brought home from Bulgaria. With a cup fo yoghurt, a really nice breakfast!

That's it for January, hope you enjoyed reading my "Monthly favourite", feel free to comment and leave a feedback for me, I would love to hear your opinion on this, especially since it's my first post of that kind.
