New Year's Eve on the lake Bled

New Year's Eve on the lake of magical Bled. Welcome 2016! :)

Where, when, how...let's go to Slovenia!

A little group of friends came around and went 300 km of our little Pula, to the lake of Bled.

We entered the new year in a peaceful and relaxed tone, and when you look at the pictures, you will understand why I am saying that.

Bled and it's surrounding places are truly a winter idyil where you can come to relax by taking long walks down the lake or through the valleys that surround you, and I believe that in the summertime the experience must be even greater, especially if you are an adventurer. Also, rowing through the lake itself must be an unforgettable memory for two!
We found accomodation only minutes away from the lake at our newly found friend Simon that made us feel very welcome in his beautiful apartment.
The house is situated in a small village surrounded by wonderful sceneries, destined for a mental and physical relaxation.

Here we are cooking the first evening...

Since we arrived on Bled at New Year's Eve, after a quick dinner we invited our host to join us for a drink and a chat.

A little fun in the apartment before freezing on the lake...

Here we are...Happy New Year! :*

Time for a little bit of sightseeing and soaking up the beauty all around us...

If you are in love, a photo inside this heart is a must! Also, place a padlock on the mole to lock up your eternal love for each other.

Can't visit Bled without trying their special dessert, the Krempita of Bled. Even though I am not a big fan of this kind of dessert, this cake was very light and truly delicious! They should be proud of their perfect Krempita! ;)

We visited the old town of Bled as well, which is situated on a hill, and it's magnificent medieval fort.

There is a beautiful view overlooking the mountains and the lake, even though the small museum isn't so spectacular as presented.

While inside the old town, check out the old printing shop, where you can basically make your own souvenir to bring home.

We made a roadtrip to Bohinj, a small town nearby, where you can find an even larger lake then the one on Bled.

The beauty of the nature blinded me and I almost forgot about food!

Yes, we treated ourselves a lot!! Let me start by showing you the Bohinj speacialty- crepes!

Let's continue with some meat and salad and dessert again!

Prekmurska gibanica and cake with jam.

We woke up with this view the last morning...I call this pure joy!

Bye bye to our great host and thanks a lot for everything!

2016 started really nicely, on a trip, and hopefully this year I'll have even more possibilities to travel and travel- that's something that makes life worth living!

I wish you all a great year!!! :*
