Romantic rainy Venice

Rain, romantic sights, bridges and narrow streets full of little details...

We started early in the morning from Rovinj and after 4 hours, there we were in Venice where a stormy weather welcomes us warmly.

By entering the city by boat which drives to their main port Stazione marittima  there is this special welcoming feeling into this fairytale land. It looks surreal.

We immediately started walking towards the "city centre" passing an old and only wooden bridge  Ponte dell'Accademia and slowly, but safely we approached the Piazza San Marco.

While walking around, we stopped a few times to soak all the beauty that surrounds us and for a moment, despite all the rain, we forgot about everything and let ourselves go to this idilic italian beauty. The rain stopped, we took a bunch of photos, walked around noticing how pricy drinks and food are and how happy we were we made ourselves panini at home. The pizza Margherita in the centre of Venice costs 25,00 euros + drinks, service fee... while you can find a nice little restaurant or pizza place by the Railway station where a Margherita would cost 8,00 euros.

The amount of people, no matter how bad the weather can be, is something I kind of disliked while marvelling the smart Venetian people and their idea and the way they built the most romantic city in the world.

We skipped the gondola ride this time (80,00 for half an hour) because of the wavy sea and the rain, but we did take the taxi boat and drove all along the Canal Grande to the Railway station(90,00 eura- OMG!!- half an hour) cuz we retured home by car (Sanjin had a minor anxiety attack on the boat:D ).

The taxi is really  fancy, so definitely somethig special to remember, but I wouldn't take it anymore because it is just too damn expensive for the provided service, but since the rain got us all falling apart at one point we said "What the hack?!" and are not sorry.

And now let's go to a visual journey through Venice... ;)
