We have finally arrived to the last destination of our 10 day tour through Italy that started in Rome, continued through the beautiful Tuscany and ended in the real fashion metropola of Milan.

After all the magical sceneries we passed through Tuscany, all the cute little houses, marvellous builidings, lots of grenery on the hills and valleys, excellent wine and even better food, here we are on the concrete surrounded by way to expensive stores, stores and...stores!

We slept in the Ferton hotel that is situated relatively close to the centre of the city, it only took us about 20 minutes of slow walk and we passed a nice green park, which is a nice refreshment given all that was waiting for us in the centre.

It was 3*** hotel and we were quite satisfied with the accomodation and service, but they kind of ripped us off for our van parking spot.

Three words that pop to my mind to describe Milan in the shortest way: fashion of course, money and concrete.

Since we spent just a little more that 24 hours there, I can't really give you a complete review of Milan, that I am sure truly deserves it, but I will surely give it another go. For now, I am not too impressed by it.

Truth is, we didn't get the chance to see a lot, we strolled all along the main street "Corso Vittorio Emanuele II" which is surrounded by expensive stores that we just glanced from the outside and some more accesible, that led us to the main square"Piazza del Duomo", where you can honestly admire the impressive Duomo di Milano.

Since I didn't quite now what to expect of the Duomo, I must admit I was pleasently surpirsed and overwhelmed when we saw it and explored it, but the very peek was when we climbed to its top!

The gothic style of the Duomo, filled with too many details on each corner, left me speachless when I was standing on the very top and I remember my inner feeling while standing there, it was a unique experience, I must say.

Once on the top, I had a feeling that the whole city was suddenly quiet and that only a privileged few could truly enjoy it from the top surrounded by this majestic walls of incredible sharp lines, but with imposing details.

In a weird way you fell respect towards Milan, peace and protection.

The entrance ticket to the top costs 9,00 euros without any discount.

We decided to climb the narrow stairs to the top, so we passed through this claustrophobic place, but good news is, there is an elevator, no need to panic!

At the exit from the Duomo, you can enter the famous"Galleria di Vittorio Emanuele II" , on the right side, that collides "Piazza del Duomo" e "Piazza della Scala".

It is a very "rich" passage where you can probably drink a pretty expensive coffee or buy some clothes....we skipped these steps and just admired the amazing Gallery that is quite magnifiscent.

The passage leads you to the Scala di Milano, the famous Milan's Theatre. I was a bit disappointed by its exterior, but that is probably because I was expecting I don't know what, too much. That's the deal with expectations, I guess.

Unfortunately, my camera battery died, so no photos of it, but google. ;)

Obviously, there is also the other side of the medal of the sparkling fashion metropola...

Let's make it clear... Milan has its green spots in the middle of the concrete as well. Problem is that as I said we didn't have enough time to explore it properly.

Since I have two beautiufl friends that live in Milan, I am sure I will revisit and experience it in all its glory.

We spent the evening with my dear friend Karen and her boyfriend in a small cute restaurant of natural gastronomy, Alhambra, that is located very close to our hotel on this address Via San Gregorio 17.

The restaurant is pretty small so it would hurt to make a reservation if you want to go there, but it is quite intimate.

The thing about serving is that you get to choose anything you want from the buffet and then your plate gets weighed and according to that you get charged at the end, by grammage.

I am a big fan of this kind of places because I like that prinicple of eating everything but in small portions, like having some finger food at the table.
